The login for WebFAC requires an SIS ID number and Password. Faculty and academic advisors may use an SSN in lieu of the SIS ID number, however if you would prefer to not use your SSN and do not know your SIS ID Number, feel free to contact the Office of the University Registrar at 935-5908, 935-5919 or 935-9818 (M-F 8:30-5:00) for this information.

Washington University requires that SIS/WebFAC Passwords be changed at least once every ninety days. You may of course change your password at any time using the WebFAC menu password function under My Profile; simply follow the on-screen instructions.

Passwords must contain 6-32 characters, and must use both alpha and (at least one) numeric character value. Special characters are allowed ($,&,#, spaces, etc.).

Should you forget your WebFAC Password, you can request that a new one be emailed to you simply by clicking on the “Forgot Your Password?” link on the logon page. To use this feature most efficiently, however, you should create a Passphrase along with an optional Hint. When a request for a new Password is made, and you have successfully provided your chosen Passphrase (the Hint is displayed), your WebFAC password is immediately reset and emailed to you. Without the Passphrase confirmation, the password must be administratively reset, in which case you will be notified by email within a few hours. Requests for new passwords made during the evening (after 5:30pm) or on weekends or holidays, will not be reset and emailed until the next business day.

(Note: If the email address displayed for you in WebFAC is incorrect or outdated, please update it through the My Profile > eMail Address option on the WebFAC menu, or contact the email account services area in your school.)

The presence of the  icon on any WU web-based tool indicates that you can use your SIS ID number and WebFAC password for login.

Password information is encrypted in the SIS database. Forgotten passwords cannot be retrieved, only reset.
